The process of site clearance is generally undertaken as part of enabling works, carried out to prepare a site for construction.

As part of the Cambourne West enabling works and infrastructure project, there is a requirement to ensure that the activities minimise dust and debris at Swanley Farm. Dust monitors were installed, revised dust suppression techniques were incorporated and on-site toolbox talks to brief the workforce was executed to ensure all considerations were met to deal with the issue and ensure everyone was kept safe.

Enabling works is the very first step in most construction projects. It covers activities from site preparation, building access routes through to putting up safety signs and installing security fencing. Getting the job done right ensures that construction teams and materials can enter and start work safely and efficiently whilst nearby communities remain protected and able to function unencumbered.
